This trip was our first backpacking formal. Accordingly, I packed in a tuxedo and Andrea and Kristine packed in evening wear. We had a fitting menu for the evening including caviar, sushi, salmon teriyaki, asparagus, and Godiva chocolates. To drink, we had martinis and cosmopolitans made (with Ketel One Vodka), some very tasty sake, and Grahms 10-year tawny port. Needless to say, our packs were quite heavy.
how about them tiki torches? They're 5-ft tall and I had 4 of them strapped to my pack. As you can imagine, they received a lot of attention and generated a numerous comments from other hikers. This often led into an explanation of what we were doing which amazed everyone.
Note Kristine's heels hanging off the back of her pack. This generated almost as many comments as the tiki torches I was carrying.
